Elective Surgery Suspended So Private Hospital Staff Can Join Fight Against COVID-19 | County Chief of St George and Sutherland

All elective elective surgeries have been postponed at a number of private hospitals in St George and Sutherland Shire as of today and staff have been deployed to public hospitals to assist the New Wales government South to respond to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The NSW Department of Health announced last week that staff at private hospitals will support labor demands in the NSW public health system and the large-scale vaccination effort now underway.

As a result, all elective elective surgeries have been temporarily postponed in a number of private hospitals.

They include Kareena Private Hospital in Caringbah, St George Private Hospital in Kogarah, and Hurstville Private Hospital.

The ministry said the move had the “full support of the Commonwealth Government through the Commonwealth Department of Health,” which had agreed to the “temporary suspension of elective elective surgeries to free up staff to support the response to the pandemic “.

“All emergency surgeries and urgent elective surgeries will continue to be performed during this difficult time. Those in need of emergency surgery will still have access to them.

“NSW Health recognizes the critical importance of private hospitals in providing timely, high-quality care to our communities and we thank them for their continued partnership in responding to the current pandemic.

“These private hospitals have performed additional elective surgeries on behalf of the public health system for patients whose elective elective surgery has been postponed to 2020, following a decision by the National Cabinet.

“Ensuring adequate system capacity as well as patient, staff and public safety will be key factors in the delivery of health services during this time.

“Patients scheduled for elective elective surgery affected by these changes are contacted and encouraged to see a physician if they experience any change in their condition so that they can be screened and upgraded to a more urgent category if necessary. “
